Ports 1961 Fall 2012
This season, the Ports 1961 show was at the New York Public Library which is an absolutely beautiful space for a show. I loved being a part of both backstage, and the actual show!
The direction was modern sensuality. The clothing had textures, metallics and solids, so we wanted that metallic feeling to be in the nail in a very modern way. We decided to do a custom shade with a variation of Brick House, which is part of the collection. We combined 3/4 of a bottle of my Hard Rock base and top coat, with 1/4 of a bottle of Brick House. The result was a very sheer, modern rust shade that gave the nails a slight wash of color. The shade captured the metallic feeling perfectly without being overwhelming.
