Honor Spring/Summer 2013
I kicked off the season with my first show this afternoon, Honor. We created a gorgeous high-gloss white nail that was actually bone-inspired. We wanted a natural nail that still captured the essence of the collection, and came up with a killer combination.
The makeup was very natural with a lot of highlighting, but for the nail we didn’t want any shimmer. To get the look, we used two coats of an opaque white called Amazing Grace, and then topped it with one coat of a sheer white called Like a Virgin. To accomplish the high-shine finish that we wanted, we used a brand new top and base coat that will be launching this spring which mimics a gel manicure for incredible shine. To get the look now, you can use my Addicted to Speed Top Coat. Since there was so much layering, it was especially crucial for us to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next. The nails were short and round, and we created the same look on the toes.
I think that white is going to be a nail trend that we’ll continue to see!
